Road Trip

Swap the city for some fresh air and a whole

lot of weed with a road trip to Divvy’s cannabis

farm in Port Perry.

It’s hard to imagine a better way to spend an October afternoon than walking through fields of

green at peak harvest season. Just an hour’s drive from Toronto, on 86 acres of rich Ontario farmland, Divvy is home to nearly 80,000 sun-grown cannabis plants.

“We started with a small five-acre parcel in 2019,” explains Trish Lackey, cannabis advocate and Senior Director at Divvy. “This marks our sixth harvest season and our biggest planting year yet!”

The second-largest outdoor grow in Canada, Divvy’s farm is run by a dedicated team of weed

lovers cultivating the classics: Sour Diesel, Sour Kush, Black Widow, Pineapple Nuken, Blueberry,

and Space Cake. “Plus, we’ve got about eighteen different experimental genetics in the R&D section,” laughs Trish. “We have a small, but extraordinary team. You can feel how much they love the plants. It’s personal. Everybody here loves weed.”

The lush rows stretch as far as I can see, but towering over all other plants is their Sour Kush. Stacked with chonky buds ready for harvest and a heavy, heady aroma of bold diesel and citrus.

“It’s a perfect representation of what we grow here,” smiles Trish. “Sour Kush loves the outdoor

growing conditions in Ontario. The flavour, the consistency—no matter where we grow it in that

86 acres, it wants to be tall, wide, and full of huge, arm-sized colas.”

Not only is Divvy growing the dankest green, but they’re also known for hosting the best events in

the industry. If you’re lucky enough to be in town for one of Divvy’s special events—don’t miss it!

Their planting and harvest parties are legendary.

“It started as a way to bring our retailers into the seed-to-sale process,” Trish explains. “We had so

much positive feedback we invited more people to visit at the end of the season to see all the flowers

in full bloom and harvest.”

“Then I thought—wouldn’t it be cool if you could plant your own and return when it’s big, gorgeous, and ready for harvest? That’s where it all started. Now we open the farm for planting parties and even put your name on a little tag with your plant so you can come back for harvest.”

Divvy’s farm isn’t open for random drop-ins, but they offer tours by appointment. Trish recommends visiting in the fall. “It’s most exciting after September 1st,” she notes. “Before that, it’s green and gorgeous, but when those buds start to pop, it’s next level.”

Try Divvy’s Sour Kush or Blueberry pre-rolls for an authentic taste of rural Ontario. They’re leading the way for local sun-grown cannabis, and you can find them at any dispensary in Ontario.
